City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) - Cassandra Clare

Hi there! So I’ve continued with The Mortal Instruments series, this time was The Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels and oh my… So intense….

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her—his mother just found out that he’s a vampire, and now he’s homeless. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

The stakes are higher than ever in the #1 New York Times bestselling fourth installment of the Mortal Instruments series.

Cassandra Clare, I love and appreciate you. This series is by far my favorite series I’ve started but I do think there comes a time things need to end… Sure I do love this book; it has descriptive fights, interesting Latin, great character development and even awesome sarcastic remarks but I think enough is enough. This took me a while to get through because I felt like it was just off. The third book was supposed to be the end but Clare continued, smart but also dumb. I think this book was great in the sense that it covered A LOT that needed to be solved, but it also created a whole new problem for many of the characters.
I still love Clary and Jace but I don’t know… She’s a little whiny if you ask me. And he’s a little creepy. Like I get it, SPOILER he was possessed but c’mon… You can’t be half here half not; it was just pushing it for me. I also really like that Simon and Isabelle talk, I love them and hope she comes around. Alec and Magnus are too cute for words, I want them together forever oh my yes. I haven’t started book 5 but I’m hoping to finish it by next week. Then the 6th and “final” book comes out May 27th so I’ll probably read a smaller book in between.

Intense, Action-packed and sometimes emotional
Rating: 8.5/10

I drank peach tea with tupelo honey. Amazing!

It’s available at iBooks, Barnes and Noble, BookDepository, Audile and many more.
