I think I’m in love with Grant Carter from Take A Chance! Here’s the
summary…
When
Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach,
Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her.
Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine
months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's
room in nothing but his boxer briefs.
Grant
made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd
known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes
him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet
Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister
even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to
redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met
her?
Okay, I literally LOVE Abbi and her books. She is so sweet,
she’s replied to my tweets and has been nothing but nice! I have read almost
all of her books and honestly I recommend them to all my friends. Take A Chance
is from her Rosemary Beach series but you do not need to read the books
before to understand this one. I think that’s one of the great benefits to her
writing! I mean it may help if a
reader read the previous books but I don’t think you have too, just be aware
that everyone in this town is friends and know each other very well. This book is told from the POV of both Harlow and grant, thus making it more insightful and interesting for the reader.
Character wise: outstanding. Every character the reader
develops a relationship with. I even fell in love with Harlow’s brother, Mase.
Harlow is a very strong and beautiful character who I see a lot of myself in,
which made the book that much more enjoyable. Grant is a classic player turned
good once he found the right girl. Along the way however he has a lot of real
emotions that regular people go through!
This book is YA with very explicit sex scenes so if that’s
not your thing, definitely don’t read this. Some of the sex scenes even made me
skim ahead… But I still wanted to enjoy it and be apart of the book so I found
myself going back to see what I missed. All her books involve sex, it's awesome
too, just an FYI. The ending is a cliffhanger with a huge plot twist but don’t
fret! There will be a second book for their story, One More Chance, coming out
September 2nd.
Romantic, quick and steamy read!
Rating: 8.5/10
