Faced with a side of Hades she never knew and crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades’ queen.
WOW. While I loved the first book from St. Clair's series, the second was even better. Because this series is offered on Kindle Unlimited I decided to pick this guy up and it did not disappoint. The story telling was exciting and page turning in this addition. I couldn't put it down and I cannot wait for the next part of their story.
I found myself lost in the story, getting frustrated with Persephone in ways I'd be frustrated with my best friend making silly decisions. I was also frustrated with Hades. I understand trust and honesty is important in every relationship however, I felt like it was shoved down readers throats a little too much in this story. With both characters breaking their own rules, and not communicating with one another I was truly mad. At no point was I mad enough to put the story down but at some points I was like "are we gods or are we high school kids?" The chemistry was just as strong as in the first book which I was thankful for.
I think this book made the relationship more realistic in a lot of ways, a little toxic, but I guess in a lot of ways during the beginning of a relationship there are toxic habits you need to work on to be comfortable and honest with the other person. I really am enjoying the series, I am hoping to start the books told from Hades' POV before the third book releases! I think hearing things from his side will open my mind a bit more to them being fated to be together, because right now while I find it very romantic I also wonder if its the best thing for the characters. It's a lot of pressure on both of them and I want it to work out for them.
