Ravenhood Trilogy - Kate Stewart

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.⁣

Let me clarify.⁣

I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.⁣

Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.⁣

When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.⁣

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.⁣

Secrets that cost us everything to keep.⁣

That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣

Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence due to my illness.⁣

And all were punished.

I have NEVER had a reaction to a series as I did the Ravenwood trilogy (originally a duet, but I am very thankful for the third book). I picked this off Kindle Unlimited because it sounded interesting and in the little blurb on Facebook I read I thought “man, that guy sounds hot...” and was I NOT expecting what I got! I’ve never read a book (or series) quite like this, with so many moving parts, characters to fall in love with, and emotions that run wild. It honestly feels like a movie while you read it, like it’s unfolding on screen in front of you. The emotions jump off the page.

Quickly, this is a definite 18+ book series. It deals with loss, love, threesomes (I wasn't expecting this aspect), depression, and a plethora of other traumatic events. It is not for the faint of heart. I also find it important to mention that it's a spin on the story of Robin Hood, not directly, but enough where you can find yourself rooting for that side of the team.

Flock: The first book in the series does a phenomenal job setting the scene while also creating a lot of grey area.I found myself needing to know more about Sean and Dominic as I flipped through pages, craving to know more. Of course we all have favorites, mine being Sean, but I really found myself wanting Cecelia to be happy, which unfortunately she was not sometimes. I thought Stewart did an amazing job at playing with our emotions, much like people played with Cecelia's. Extremely steamy, upon picking it up I had NO idea, but boy am I thankful for it!

Exodus: What a ROLLER COASTER. I definitely fell for Tobias in certain ways. I think that the way Stewart made him part of the story was extremely creative. I also loved seeing Cecelia grow up in a lot of ways. Super steamy, much like the first (but less cringe for me personally) and I definitely had more fun reading this one than it's counterpart.

The Finish Line: This ending really wrapped the series up with a little bow for me. I loved seeing parts of Tobias' past, as well as seeing how the two navigate their future. I think it was a really brilliant ending and again, really fun to read.

I definitely recommend this series to anyone looking to get out of their comfort zone or just looking for a distracting sexy read. It’s steamy, it’s adventurous, sometimes it’s unfair, but overall it’s a pleasure!
