Evermore - Alyson Noel

Hi there! I’ve had Evermore by Alyson Noel sitting in my growing library since I want to say 8th grade, I’m a sophomore in college now. It’s a supernatural fantasy book series, the exact types of books I swoon over.

The first book in Alyson Noël's extraordinary new Immortals series. Enter an enchanting new world, where true love never dies...

After a horrible accident claims the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact to suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school — but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.

Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head - wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is - or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

This book reminded me a lot of the Hush Hush series, actually more of the Existence trilogy, but not in a bad way. I loved both series and I can’t wait to continue with this one. I just ordered the next 5 books off amazon so I’m pretty committed to writing about them here. I love anything supernatural so the fact that this book takes a little bit of a different twist on that drew me in. Ever, the main character, is a cool character, facing the life she was given rather sadly and she avoids her old life at all costs but hey, I’d do the same after the accident she went through. Then we’re introduced to her friends, Miles who I absolutely adore, and Haven who I really dislike. Spoiler Damen isn’t a vampire but he in a way reminds ever in the book and me in real life of one. I really like his charisma and the way everything means something to him, for example flowers. Damen is, hot, yes... but what is his story? I’m hoping to learn more about him in the rest of the series. Drina as the antagonist, it think maybe my biggest complaint, the whole explanation sort of wrecked the ending for me. You’ll just have to wait and see, because I don’t want to elaborate too much on it. It’s actually one of the things I wished Noel had elaborated on a little bit more. Too far fetched maybe, or just possibly just a lack of explanation. Either way, I think that Drina isn’t over and that sort of bothers me. Her character bored me.
I loved the story itself, the plot was engaging, and kept me turning pages for the day. I kept waiting for one big revelation, but really it’s just revealed piece by piece, which was a welcoming change of pace. I found myself lost in Noel’s words, often picturing everything she’s talking about with great detail.

Engaging, easy read and a page-turner!

I bought my copy ages ago but it’s available with Amazon, Audible, iBooks, Barnes and Noble and many other sites.
